Brandon Herrera: Read the facts

TX-23 General Election – November 2026

His Own Party’s Jewish Organizations Spent $1.4 Million to Stop Him.

Herrera played Nazi marching songs in YouTube videos and liked comments praising them. He called a Nazi gun “the original ghetto blaster,” goose-stepped on camera, and did a dramatic reading from Mein Kampf on a podcast. The Republican Jewish Coalition called him “a goose-stepping extremist who pals around with online Nazis.” AIPAC spent over $1 million trying to defeat him in his own primary.

He Wore a Confederate Uniform at Age 23 — in a Majority-Minority District.

Herrera has been a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans since 2008. He filmed a recruitment video calling the Civil War the “War of Northern Aggression,” was photographed in full Confederate uniform as an SCV “Honor Guard” in 2019, and led the group singing “Dixie” at a national convention. TX-23 is a majority-minority border district. That’s not heritage — that’s a disqualification.

A Mass Shooter Named Him Before Killing Two Children.

On August 27, 2025, a gunman attacked Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, killing two children and injuring 28 others. Before the attack, the shooter said it was “sponsored by Brandon Herrera for president.” Herrera wants to represent the district that includes Uvalde, where 19 children were gunned down in 2022.

His Campaign Treasurer Was Linked to George Santos.

The FEC has opened a formal investigation into Herrera’s campaign — covering anonymous donations, a suspicious $100,000 payment to the Texas GOP that turned into mailers for his campaign, and a $50,000 self-loan on an $84,000 salary. His treasurer, Thomas Datwyler, has paid over $20,000 in prior FEC fines and was identified as a potential “shadow campaign treasurer” for expelled Rep. George Santos.

94.5% of His Campaign Spending Goes to a Single Vendor.

FEC filings show Herrera’s campaign has spent $2.5 million — but $2.39 million of it went to one vendor: Texas Strategy Group. The committee raised only $164,949 to its principal account while carrying $250,000 in outstanding debts. Where is the money really going?

He Mocked Veteran Suicide — and He Never Served.

On the Unsubscribe podcast, Herrera said: “I often think about putting a gun in my mouth, so I’m basically an honorary veteran.” Giffords condemned the remark. Brandon Herrera never served a day in uniform and dropped out of college. Twenty-two veterans die by suicide every day. Their sacrifice isn’t a punchline.

He Joked About Storming the Capitol on January 6 — While He Was There.

On January 6, 2021, while present in Washington, D.C., Herrera tweeted: “If you’re going to storm the White House, you HAVE to take a dope new social media profile photo.” He later called the January 6th Committee a “sham.”

He Raffled a Military Rifle in Uvalde’s District — Then Called a Critic a “Democrat Cuck.”

Herrera raffled a Romanian RPK military-style rifle as a campaign fundraiser in a district where 19 children were shot and killed at school. When criticized, he called the critic a “Democrat cuck” and said: “A tragedy happening in a certain geographical area doesn’t affect my constitutional rights.”

His Endorsers Include Kyle Rittenhouse, Matt Gaetz, and Ted Nugent.

Kyle Rittenhouse is an official endorser who campaigned with Herrera in El Paso. Matt Gaetz was his first political ally. Ted Nugent backed his campaign. He appeared in a documentary alongside Cody Wilson, who pleaded guilty to sexual assault of a minor. One controversial endorser is an accident. A full roster is a choice.

He Recreates Famous Assassinations for YouTube Views.

Herrera has a YouTube series recreating the killings of JFK (12.9M views), Lincoln (12.8M views), MLK (3.27M views), and the Trump shooting (9.95M views). He’s also called for “public hangings,” called for “tar and feathering” fellow Republicans, and joked about the assassination of a healthcare CEO. Nearly 40 million views on assassination content. That’s not education — that’s a brand.
